Terms of Service

Halal Kashif · Effective Date: January 17, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Halal Kashif. By using the app, you agree to be bound by the terms below.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Halal Kashif, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

2. Purpose of the App

Halal Kashif provides information regarding the halal status of various products. This information is intended for educational and informational purposes only and does not constitute a religious ruling (fatwa). The app applies a single conservative ruleset and does not currently distinguish between schools of thought (madhahib); where scholars differ on an ingredient, it is flagged as doubtful (mushbooh) for you to verify. For matters of religious obligation, consult a qualified scholar.

3. Accuracy of Information

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, the halal status of products can change, and certifications may vary. We make no warranties regarding the completeness, reliability, or accuracy of the information provided. We recommend always checking with the product manufacturer or a trusted certification body.

4. User Responsibility

You are responsible for your use of the application and for any decisions made based on the information provided. Halal Kashif is not liable for any consumption of non-halal products based on inaccurate information in the app.

5. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application for its intended purpose on your mobile device.

6. Data Sources & Attribution

Product information - including names, brands, ingredient lists, nutrition data and images - is sourced from Open Food Facts, a collaborative open database, and is used under the Open Database License (ODbL). Because that data is contributed by volunteers, it may be incomplete or out of date for any given product. The halal rules database used to interpret ingredients is curated separately and ships within the app.

Halal Kashif is an independent application. Where the app recognises a certification mark in product data, that indicates only that the mark was present in the data; it implies no affiliation with, or endorsement by, the organisation concerned.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Your continued use of the application after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new terms.
